8-Port Manifolds are multi-channel pipettes typically with 8 ports, which allow a single device to fill several wells simultaneously. This allows the user to quickly and easily fill multi-well plates used for tissue culture, drug screening or enzymatic assays. A filtered tip is useful when the test is susceptible to cross-contamination or when the sample may contaminate the bottom of the pipette. The filter prevents liquid from accidentally splashing onto the pipette and aerosols from entering the tip cone during pipetting. The filter protects the pipettes from aerosols and the aspiration of volatile or viscous solutions into the cylinder, which can contaminate and damage the pipette. These tips are sterile and DNase/RNase free.

Gentaur supplies 8-port manifolds that are frictionally coupled to the 50ml combination syringe. The manifold tips respect the standard 9 mm spacing between the microplates. With aqueous solutions, this tip allows equal distribution in all 8 tips up to 1.7% of the dispensed volume. Due to accuracy issues with larger diameters, Gentaur does not supply a twelve port manifold.
