Quantitative sandwich ELISA for measuring Mouse Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase C (PPIC) in samples from cell culture supernatants, serum, whole blood, plasma and other biological fluids.

Peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase C is a member of the peptidyl-prolyl cis-trans isomerase (PPIase)) family. PPIases catalyze the cis-trans isomerization of proline imidic peptide bonds in oligopeptides and accelerate the folding of proteins. Similar to other PPIases, this protein can bind immunosuppressant cyclosporin A. Friedman and Weissman (1991) cloned cyclophilin C from a cDNA library prepared from a murine bone marrow-derived stromal cell line. Their initial interest in the cDNA was based on its high level of homology with all known cyclophilins. The tissue distribution made it a candidate for the mediator of the immunosuppressive and nephrotoxic actions of cyclosporin A, as it is expressed most highly in the kidney and can be detected in activated T cells.
